ooo Yorkdale! If I had known this was going on I would have swung by! It looked like a lot of fun. Oh well, next time :)

Can I also ask you a question? How long did it take you to find an agent from the time that you first started querying? And was this book the first novel you queried? I've just started the process myself and I'm trying to learn as much as I can from the experience!

One thing I've learned from talking to other writers is that everyone's journey (including the journey to getting an agent) is different--so it's pretty hard to get a general idea of how it works. :) But my personal experience was, it took a little less than six months from starting queries for GHOST to getting the call offering representation. I had queried on other novel before that, but it was a early MG chapter book, which was sort of an experiment for me (other than that I'd only written YA and adult) so I wasn't entirely surprised that it didn't end up with any offers.

Good luck with your agent search!

Yeah experiences definitely vary. It's just interesting to hear so many different stories :)

Thanks! The whole process is really nerve-wracking but strangely fun too.
