Pike Talk

Note to past self:

When writing notes on a potential story, it would be really helpful if you'd use terms more specific than:

"-tells a little, hints"

and

"-more explanation"

and

"-final battle, decision"

Seriously. Hints at what? What explanation? What decision? Obviously I knew what I was talking about when I was writing this attempted outline, four years ago, but looking at it now... *boggles*

Most bizarre phrase: "bit of Pike talk"--Pike talk? Like... Christopher Pike? Or the dude in the Buffy movie? Or... I really have no clue on that one. And I don't mention this Pike anywhere else in the notes.

The worst thing is, I know I'd figured out a whole bunch of important things about how this world works, but I don't seem to have bothered to write them down. What the hell, 23-year-old me!?

I guess I'll just have to hope what I figure out now is better than the ideas I had then!

Yes, I've done that too! I'll get some idea and be sure I'll remember it and then... oh no, what was it again? I've started ending my writing sessions by jotting a few point form notes at the end of the prose where I've stopped about the things I've thought of that I intend to happen next, which has helped.
