Critting the early years

So, I'll be starting the rewrite of Bad Luck Boy tomorrow (I'd start it tonight, but I'm too darn tired :P), and it should be finished pretty quickly as it's very short. I'm wondering: anyone know a place where I can get decent critiques on an early middle-grade novel? I haven't seen anything younger than YA up at the SFF-OWW so I'm hesitant to post it there. I'm not familiar with any children's writers critique groups, but if there are any, I'd love to hear about them.

In other news, somehow or other I ended up writing another (very short) short. Tentatively titled "Day of the Broken Moon". Needs a thorough rewrite but I'm pleased with the initial effort as an initial effort (more for the feeling of potential than what's actually there right now).

Early reports on "Supplanting" indicate it's going to need a major, major rewrite. *sighs* Will wait to hear from the group before making any definite decisions. Am starting to suspect that story may be more trouble than it's worth.

I think after all that's done, I'm going to be re-starting The Nines. That or the Britain-related project that just bit my brain this afternoon. Or the fantasy idea I had last summer that never quite took off. Or maybe...

Okay, so I don't really have a clue. But I am reasonably certain it'll be a novel.

*waits for the next short story to drop*
