Wonders of the internet age

I don't check Facebook very often, but I do have it set up so I get e-mail notifications when someone sends me a message or adds me as a friend. And a couple days ago I got a notification that made me squee as soon as I saw the name.

"Oh my god!" I said to Chris. "My best friend from grade 1 just sent me a message!"

She and I were best buds for the first few years of school, until she moved away. I haven't seen her since I was... six? And now we are talking again.

The internet's far from perfect, but every now and then I have to stop and revel at all that's possible because we have it, that wouldn't have been before.

Do you have any cool internet stories? Share, share!

Ah, Facebook is definitely cool. I had a huge crush on this boy in the third grade, absolutely loved him. Then he moved away to Florida and I thought I'd never see him again. A few months ago we messaged on Facebook, and went out for a nice lunch and caught up on crazy old memories. Boyfriend called me about eight times during the whole thing, haha. But it's really cool to meet up with old friends.

My old best friend from second grade found me on Myspace awhile back. Now that was whacky.
