1. Working on the current draft of LOKI'S BOY. I just added a brand new scene today that was a lot of fun. About a third of the way through and moving steadily onward!
2. Reading and re-reading some excellent books. I just finished WAITING TO SCORE by fellow Deb and Canuck J.E. MacLeod, which is a great, gripping contemporary read with amazing boy voice, and DREAMING ANASTASIA by fellow 2K9er Joy Preble, which is perfect for those who like some history mixed in with their paranormal. And before that I re-read one of my all-time favorite YA fantasies, THE KING OF ATTOLIA by Megan Whalen Turner. It just gets more awesome each time!
3. Preparing for my NYC trip next week. So close! Can't wait to meet with all of my LJ Friends who'll be there, not to mention my agent and my editor. :) And it'll be my first time in NYC ever, so I'll definitely be doing some tourist-ing when I'm not at BEA.
4. Keeping on eye on GIVE UP THE GHOST online. I'm super-pleased to see that it's now available for preorder at Powells! Powells has long been one of my favorite bookstores--I was deeply saddened when rising postal rates meant they could no longer offer free shipping to Canada, but that hasn't stopped me from ordering. ;)
5. Occasionally having a life outside of books and writing. Chris and I went to see the new Star Trek on Monday--so much fun!

We saw Star Trek a few nights ago and we want to see it again.
Have fun in NY
Wasn't Star Trek awesome!
Of course when I tell people that i've only been up and down the East Coast as far as traveling in America goes...they give me looks of horror XD
I can't wait for BEA and I'm SO HAPPY I can afford to go for one day at least!
Glad to hear you'll be at BEA! Which day are you going?
my parents weren't really 'vacation' people when I was growing up. Well my dad still isn't (though he's planning a trip to Rome sometime in the next five years...or so he says), but my mom suddenly got the vacation bug the summer I moved out of her house. Coincidence? XD So my younger sister has been all over the US plus Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, parts of Ireland and England and a day trip to France as well.
