Loose outline complete. Loose in this case meaning it starts with ten points per chapter and ends with two per chapter. 15 chapters total, aiming for about 200 pages. So what if I had thought I'd write a MG novel and this idea is demanding to be YA. So what if I only have the most sketchy details of the second half of the novel. Onward I go!

Yea! Don't you love the enthusiam you have when starting a new project?

The line between YA and MG is really cloudy. I wouldn't worry.

I would think anything in-between should be marketed as MG -- MG readers might "read up," but older readers aren't likely to read down.

Well, I think this is definitely YA. Main character is 15, there's some fairly graphic violence, and 'mature themes', as they say. But the MGers will be welcome to read up.

15 years old is definitely YA. What's it about? Or should I page back in your blog for the answer?

Haven't said anything about what it's about yet. Other than that it's from a sort of non-human POV. I'm in that vague afraid-of-losing-the-inspiration stage. ;) When the first draft's done, then I'll be talking.

Did you try sending BLB again?

I did, and I copied and pasted the address you suggested (not the livejournal one). Did it still not come? Very strange. Here, I'll upload it to my site (it's here ). Let me know when you've got it so I can delete it, lest the fiction thieves steal it away. ;)

The only thing I can imagine is that somehow my ISP is blocking your e-mail. I'll look into it. Thanks for the link.
