Finished Chapter 3 as planned yesterday, got 2/3 through Chapter 4 today. Just over 9000 words now. I'd like to say I'll finish it by the end of August, but looking at my schedule for this month, that may depend as much on luck as on perseverance. Certainly by early September, in any case.

Having world-naming woes. Hard enough naming a character or city, but an entire world? One I've already got enough story ideas for to fill half a dozen books? I had one, then decided it was too trite, came up with another, but am ambivalent about it at present... Have this feeling there's another, more perfect name out there if I could only stumble across it.

Any suggestions on how to name worlds/planets/huge tracts of land?

talk to my friend Jo. She's going to Smith too next year, and you two are SO much alike. She has a whole community on this site called elfwood and she writes and writes and writes and makes worlds just like you do. Her screenname is NoConceptOfTime...

good luck!!

Gosh - sounds like you're writing quickly. I know what you mean about naming people and places. This is your sci-fi story, right? I'd try and find something that sounds fresh and contemporary, like an electronics company name or something, lol.

That probably doesn't help...:p
