It's done!

Second draft of In Memory Of, completed, oh, about five minutes ago. And just over 60,000 words. Not because I pushed it past, but because it ended up needing to be that long after all. The muse obviously overheard me doubting and wasn't having any of it.

And I am going to be tired at work tomorrow, because I stayed up later than I should finishing the damn thing, but tomorrow's my only day to look it over at all before I hand copies over to the writer's group on Saturday, so I really really really wanted it done before.

You know what this means, right? :D I am in need of additional victims er, readers. The more the merrier. In case you're not quite up to date, this is a YA supernatural novel. Here are the first two paragraphs. Lemme know if you want the rest.

In Memory Of

It's been four years since Paige died, but she still knows how to get on my nerves. I guess it's her job as an older sister. Still, you'd think being dead would make her a little less annoying.

"Please tell me you’re not wearing that to school," she said as I zipped up my jeans. She was perched in the air over my bed, just above the wrought-iron headboard, her legs crossed and tipped to the side. It's the way she used to sit at the dinner table, back when, pretending to be hooked on Dad’s every word while her mind wandered off to boyfriend land. Except these days she does it without a chair.

Yay!

Hooray! Congratulations!

And I'd be glad to read it, though I might be a little slow with the holidays coming; feel free to send it to my email if you wish, along with any specific things you are looking for feedback on.

Congratulations!

I stumbled into your LJ and read it because I think I might be a writer someday. I would love to read your book, but I've never done that kind of thing before.

I'd be happy to get your feedback on the book. It's fine if you haven't done critiquing before--basically you just read it like any other book, and think about what you liked about it, and what you didn't, and how it could be better, and then you tell me all that. :) Let me know what e-mail address to send it to, and I'll send it along.
